World's largest floating slum got demolished / Thousands of families have got nowhere to go

People, today I am visiting the largest floating slum in the entire world. This is Makoko. According to different estimates, up to 100,000 people live here permanently. This is their home. Can you imagine, a total of 100,000 people? That’s roughly the population of a city like Davenport, Iowa. I was lucky to visit Makoko just before it got demolished. This could be the last report ever from the world’s largest floating slum before it was wiped off the face of the earth - before it was torn down, burned and had the stilts ripped out of the water.
