Man survives head stabbing near Yankee Stadium, police say

Police say a 37-year-old man was stabbed in the back of the head on Wednesday, steps from the Yankee Stadium on Jerome Avenue. Investigators say officers were called to 1005 Jerome Ave. for a report of a stabbing at around 11:44 p.m. There they found the victim with a stab wound on the back of the head. Officers quickly jumped into action, rushing the man to a local hospital in a police vehicle.
