Dad's First Day on the Job and the Neighbor Told Us Something WE DIDN'T EXPECT

I asked my dad if he wanted to come out and help me find an overgrown property to clean up, and he didn't hesitate. So we drove around until we came across this one, and it was bad. Completely overgrown, driveway needed edged up, and there was no car in sight. We knocked and didn't get an answer, so we walked across the street to talk to the neighbor who was outside. She told us the lady who lived here passed away quite a while ago, and the grass has pretty much not been touched since. About three years. She didn't know who the property got passed down to, but whoever it is hasn't come back to take care of it, and the city's never been by to cut it either. She was really glad we were there though, because she said it had just been looking bad for the whole neighborhood for a long time. So we got to work. I'll be honest, I put my dad on the shovel to let him get his workout in and I barely broke a sweat — all jokes aside, it was genuinely one of my favorite days doing this. He told me he was sore for a week after, but he loved every second of it. By the time we finished, this place looked completely different.
