Red squirrels return.

I just love wildlife and am lucky to be a short drive from some beautiful forest walks,marina and my home overlooks Holyloch. #forestwalks#wildlife#scenery #nature #forests An assortment of birds and red squirrels. Dunoon and the surrounding Cowal Peninsula in Argyll and Bute offer a wealth of opportunities to experience Scottish wildlife. Here's a glimpse of what you might find: #Holy_Loch The head of Holy Loch, especially the mudflats at #Sandbank, is excellent for #birdwatching. You might spot curlews, oystercatchers, wigeon, and red-breasted mergansers. There's a bird hide at #Broxwood for better viewing. #PucksGlen This #magical #woodland with gorges and #waterfalls is another habitat for red squirrels. *Mammals:* Red squirrels, red deer, otters, common (harbour) seals, grey seals, harbour porpoises, and possibly bottlenose dolphins. *Birds:* A wide variety of seabirds (oystercatchers, eider ducks, gulls, herons, curlew, etc.), wading birds, and potentially birds of prey like buzzards, and if you're lucky, golden eagles or sea eagles. *Nature Reserves and Trails:* #Holy_Loch_Nature_Reserve A community-run reserve mainly for birdwatching, with saltmarsh, wildflower meadows, and woodland habitats. *Benmore Botanic Garden:* While a botanic garden, its mountainside setting provides habitat for wildlife like red squirrels and deer. *#Bullwood_Nature_Trail:* A woodland trail with a focus on nature and wildlife. To increase your chances of seeing wildlife, remember to be patient, quiet, and observe from a distance. Dawn and dusk are often the best times to spot many animals.
